The gallery artepari presents its first exhibition with Ronald Kodritsch

At the end of march artepari presents its first exhibition with the artist Ronald Kodritsch in Peter-Tunner-Gasse in Graz. The team of the gallery aims at introducing contemporary art of the younger generation to a broader public.
The gallery doesn't only concentrate on continuing exhibition activities with four to six individual or rather pickering theme exhibitions, but the work of its artists is also being presented in terms of temporary exhibition projects and at art fairs.
The accomodations of the gallery are on the 2nd floor as well as in the courtyard of Peter-Tunner-Gasse 60 in Graz. They also offer space for installations and conceptual works. At the opening exhibition, the accomodations are being decorated with paintings and drawings of Ronald Kodritsch of the series "Bastards".

About the exhibition of Ronald Kodritsch's „Bastards“

31st of march to 9th of may 2008

For the first time the gallery artepari shows a concentrated overview of paintings ranging from a small to a large format from the series "Bastards", which were being generated in the lst years (2006-2008). In the series "Bastards" Kodritsch gives dogs human features. He calls these dogs, banished on canvas, chimeras because they have both animal and human features. Most of them look frontally at us, as if they wanted to provoke us or just inform us about their existential orientation. Cave canem - an artificial hair of head, which decorates their head of fur with different hairstylings and forms, is their common trophy. On the occasion of the exhibition the monography "Bastards" (German/English) will appear with 44 images and texts from Wolfgang Drechsler and Ursula Mähner-Ehrig in the publishing house "Bibliothek der Provinz".

Ronald Kodritsch was born in Leoben in 1970 and visited the master school of painting in Graz from 1990 to 1992. He studied with Gerhard Lojen. From 1992 on he studied at the Academy of visual arts Vienna with Gunter Damisch (diploma). Study visits took him to London (Chelsea School of Art), to Paris, New York and time and again to Asia. Kodritsch lives in Vienna and Phnom Penh.

Kodirtsch's artworks were exhibited in numerous individual ad group exhibitions at home and abroad.
