Artist infront of his object, O.T., 2008
|
 Markus Wilfling, O.T., 2008, steel varnished, 41 x 170 x 77 cm
|
From the 24th to the 27th of April 2008 the artepari gallery shows new works of the artist Markus Wilfling at the international artfair VIENNAFAIR in Vienna (solo-show, stall A0111).
As a representative of the Austrian sculpture, Markus Wilfling is one of the most original and distinctive artists of the young generation.
Wilfling works with daily matters, with the unnoticed or unconscious dimension of reality. His concern is the irritation of preconceived concepts of perception. Reality becomes incalculable and unpredictable in his art, illusiveness and being merge. Virtuality becomes reality, imaginary matters become concrete-objective ones.
The artist Markus Wilfling was born in Innsbruck in 1966. He visited the school of arts and crafts in Graz and afterwards studied sculpting at the Academy of visual arts in Vienna with Bruno Gironcoli. With the installation of the shade of the “Grazer Uhrturm” in line with the cultural capital of Europe in 2003, Wilfling became known to a broader public.
