BERNHARD HAMMER
Under the title „Mass“ the gallery artepari shows new works of the artist Bernhard Hammer.

MASSE
The art historian Werner Hofmann generally calls the artwork a mirror of its observers. This, no doubt, applies to Bernhard Hammer’s works in multiple respects: against the background of the individual knowledge about the discussion of the phenomenon “crowds” in philosophy, sociology, history, literature and last but not least the visual arts, the dialectic questioning of the artwork about the individual mental state in society should accord to a hardly repressable process. It’s needless to mention that the relation between the individual and the mass, between single and multiple, defines daily life.
Beyond that archetype of human consciousness, Bernhard Hammer also carries out a continuing sequence of the graphic illustration to the abstraction and furthermore to an area of the monochrome, from the depiction of space to the flat, within his work cycle. In this exhibition, Hammer reveals his way of working by also showing the plastic models, which become the image content for his C print enhanced photos.
