The arteparti gallery presents a solo exhibition featuring new work by Ronald Kodritsch.
Soul Fucking
In his latest works, Ronald Kodritsch lives up to his reputation as a politically incorrect painter of the relevant, the ambiguous and the acclaimed. With paintings such as "Blowing", "Not for Beginners", and "Excuse me, but I've just lost my balls", "Soul Fucking" brings together narrative gems which offer only a superficial hat tip to the provocative title of the exhibition. Because here, superficiality allows an unobstructed view of the more cryptic elements of society, paradox rejects the supposedly meaningful, irony speaks of the downside of reason and mockery is pitted against the conventions of the powerful. Kodritsch's most recent works display an intensification, a development out of pure abstraction, and are combined with fragments of reality and well-known scenes from his existing works. The metaphysical coitus emerges as a spiritual confrontation between intuition and reason, the ambiguous and the distinct, the abstract and the realistic. The incorrigible artust exploits the symbolic lexicon of popular culture as a continuation of his ironic societal analysis.
